Related Term Type

Describes the relationship between the related term (<related-term>) and the term (<term>) that is being defined in a term section using the <term-display> element. For example, the related term is a deprecated form of the term being defined.

acronymThe related term is the initial letters of the preferred term, or other combination pronounced as a word, rather than as a sequence of letters.
contrast-withThe related term is unlike the preferred term and provides a contrast.
deprecatedTermThe related term is not preferred and should not be used.
seeSomeone looking for a term should use this related term instead of the term found.
see-alsoSomeone looking at the preferred term might also be interested in this related term.
synonymThe related term has a very similar meaning to the preferred term.
RestrictionThis attribute is required; it must be provided if the element is used.
